Tourists were surprised by the gentleness and cuteness of Monkey Kaka

Kaka looks healthy and happy, living the life on this beautiful island!

I originally was afraid she might have been dropped off in the middle of gigantic forest somewhere to fend for herself. Here, she still some human contact, while still living happily like a monkey. It’s wonderful to see her enjoy basking in the sun, foraging, climbing trees, and doing whatever she likes, unhindered by clothes (purpose) and diapers, and being a herself!

I don’t understand why some commenters are upset that she now eats grasshoppers. She is a MONKEY, and insects are part of her natural diet, along with fruit (not TOO much), stems, leaves, flowers, seeds, nuts, etc. It is better much for her than a human diet of cooked vegetables, noodles, candy/other sweets, steamed buns, etc.

Interesting how quickly she reverted on her own to moving on all fours. She looks so much more agile and comfortable when she moves. I am glad to see that she could reverse her harmful and unnatural training to walk bipedal.

I really hope there are other monkeys on the island, as it is important that she be with other members of her species. Maybe she will even “meet someone” and have a family of her own!
